Sandeep hits century

Udhagamandalam: A fine unbeaten 121 by S. Sandeep enabled Colts Cricket score a convincing six-wicket win over Nilgiris CC in the semifinals of the NDCA-HPF Staff Club Rolling Trophy cricket tournament at the HPF grounds here on Monday.

The scores (Semifinals): Nilgiris CC 191 for six in 40 overs (R.K. Magesh 74, V. Dharmveer Singh 44, T.K. Pasupatheeswaran four for 28) lost to Colts CC 193 for four in 26.1 overs (S. Sandeep 121 not out); Yankees CC 181 (Arun K. Nair 63, Sathyamurthy four for 20) bt Youngstars CC 116.

Divis CC wins

Divis Cricket Club defeated Yellanhalli XI CC by four wickets in the Canara Bank-NDCA ‘C’ division league for the Kairbetta Estates Syndicate Rolling Trophy at the Cordite Factory grounds recently.

The scores: Yellanhalli XI CC 120 lost to Divis CC 121 for six in 28.3 overs; Blossom Cricketers 155 (M. Ashwin Samuel 71) bt Kenthorai CC 60 (Vaishakan four for 29).

Muthukumar slams century

At Coimbatore, Muthukumar scored 105 in R.S. Puram Cricket Club’s 74-run win over Friends Recreation Club in the Canara Bank-CDCA third division league for the Servall Trophy at the PSGIMS grounds recently.

The scores: Coimbatore Friends CC 159 in 44.4 overs (R. Arun Kumar 41 not out, A. Saravana Kumar four for 37) bt Kaleeswar CC 105 in 26 overs; Dolphin CC 317 for six in 50 overs (G. Sanjeev Kumar 71, Prassanna 51, G. Prem Kumar 42 Prakash 39) bt Senthil Srinivasan Memorial CC 191 in 44.1 overs (Srikanth 61, Viswanathan four for 34); R.S. Puram CC 295 for seven in 50 overs (Muthukumar 105, Senthil Kumar 48, Karthik Kumar 54 not out) bt Friends RC 221 in 44.2 overs (Sridhar 42, Balasubramaniam 47); Janaranjani SC 127 in 43.2 overs lost to Rainbow Wizards CC 128 for five in 34 overs.

Tennis tournament

The district level junior tennis tournament will be held at the CDTA courts in R.S. Puram from December 24 to 27. The sign-in is scheduled on December 23 between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Entries can be submitted directly at the venue between 6.30 a.m. and 8.30 a.m. or 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. For details, contact S. At Salem, Chandramouli Cricket Club (CCC) posted a comfortable eight-wicket win over Sunil Cricket Club in a Pool ‘B’ match of the SDCA Twenty20 city league cricket tournament recently.

The scores: City: Pool ‘A’: Rock CC 162 for three in 20 overs (M. Govindaraj 46, Sarathi 42) bt Jaganathan CC 122 for nine in 20 overs; GMCC 109 in 20 overs (Manohar 47, Chandru three for 23) lost to Maratha CC 110 for eight in 19.4 overs (Illyaraja three for 19, Prakash three for 24); Vampire CC 162 for six in 20 overs (S. Sathiyamoorthy 53) bt Gandhiji CC 115 for seven in 20 overs (B. Ajay Sharma 54, M. Thangadurai three for 21.

Varsity kabaddi

At Namakkal, the Periyar University will conduct the South Zone and all-India inter-varsity tournaments for men at the Kandaswami Kandar College in Vellur from December 24 to 31.
