Arbuzov keeps a clean slate

MUMBAI: Russian Andrey Arbuzov, World No. 15, won four out of the four sailing races on the opening day of the Provogue Mumbai International Match Race, held off the H2O Complex waters, Chowpatty.

India’s flag bearer, Commander R. Mahesh, won four out of six races. Ten teams are participating in this championship which is being held for the first time in the country.

Germany’s Ellegast Tino impressed with three victories from four starts, two-time World Champion Farokh Tarapore won two out of three, losing one race to Mahesh. Among other Indian competitors, A. Arvind and Arjuna Awardee Aashim Mongia (one win, three races) too impressed. — Special Correspondent
