VIJAYAWADA: Students of the Indus Institute of Hotel Management and Culinary Arts are gearing up to stimulate the taste buds of food connoisseurs in the city by dishing out lip-smacking delicacies at the three-day Indus Multi-cuisine Food Feast unfolding on Monday.

The food festival, on its sidelines, will also feast the visitors on exciting games and events like dance competition, a catwalk and a ‘Best Couple’ contest. RJ of Radio Mirchi would take the centre stage to keep the guests entertained, said institute Director V.K. Gupta at a press conference on Sunday.

The venue of the event, Sri Vidya Sadan beside Maris Stella College, would bustle with students donning the role of chefs to showcase their culinary prowess, he said. Mr. Gupta said the objective of the event was to boost the confidence of students. The booming hotel industry presented a bright picture for the prospective chefs and others associated with it. He said many of the students from the institute had moved to places like the U.S., the U.K and Australia either for higher studies or for placements.

Established in 2002, the institute was affiliated to Acharya Nagarjuna University. Mr. Gupta said encouraged by good response to various courses offered by the institute, it had introduced a new Intermediate in hotel management course this year.

Institute principal Padma Priya, administrative officer Suresh and others were also present.
