Keshubhai refuses to vote

AHMEDABAD: The former Gujarat Chief Minister and dissident BJP leader, Keshubhai Patel, refused to exercise his franchise in the Tuesday election. Mr. Patel, who had been seeking a change of guard in the State for the last three years, was in Rajkot, where he is a voter. He is reported to have told some of his close associates that he was “not happy with Modi’s BJP” and, therefore, could not vote for it.

However, another former Chief Minister, Suresh Mehta, along with his family members, exercised his franchise at Mandvi, his home constituency in Kutch district, .
