Vamsi scores unbeaten century

VIJAYAWADA: Vamsi (128 n.o.) helped South ‘B’ lift the D. Venkateswara Rao Memorial Trophy for the ACA u-13 inter-zonal tournament, which concluded at Guntur on Monday.

The scores: South ‘A’ 114 and 215 for six in 45 overs (C. Tejeswi 101, Abdul Haq three for 19) drew with South ‘B’ 248 for four decl. in 80 overs (Vamsi 128 n.o. Jayavardhan 72, Tejeswi three for 19).

Young Stars XI scored a four-wicket victory over VS XI in the KDCA ‘B’ division league tournament here on Monday.

The scores: VS XI 84 in 17.2 overs (Jashuva four for one) lost to Young Stars XI 85 for six in 17.3 overs (Subrahmanyam four for 15).

Trials to select the Krishna District junior volleyball boys and girls teams (u-18) will be held at the Railway Institute courts on December 12. Interested should report at 10 a.m. along with their proof of age.

Trials to select the Krishna District badminton boys and girls teams (u-19) for School Games will be held on December 13 at the Montessori Mahila Kalasala indoor stadium. Interested should report to organising secretary Nageswara Rao at 9 a.m.
