Suraj strikes winner
KOCHI: A few minutes after muffing a penalty, Suraj made amends and struck the match-winner to carry Bolghatty Footballers to the final of the Star Homes Cup 24th C.H. Mohammed Koya memorial football tournament here on Monday.
Bolghatty Footballers defeated Shine Soldiers (Vazhakkala) 1-0 through Suraj’s 21st-minute strike at the Fort Kochi Parade ground. He had shot a penalty wide in the fifth minute.
There will be no match on Tuesday and Bolghatty Footballers will meet Amateurs (Aluva) in the final on Wednesday. Amateurs had beaten Golden Threads (Ernakulam) 6-5, via sudden-death, in the first semifinal. — Principal Correspondent
