BANGALORE: Junior international Aaron D’Souza of BAC won the 100m butterfly and the 100m freestyle events in boys’ Group I, with new meet records in the State short course swimming championship here on Firday. Aaron clocked 59.31 seconds to win the butterfly bettering the mark of Aniketh D’Souza which stood at 1:02.1 seconds. In the freestyle race, Aaron again improved on Aniketh’s mark of 54.63 seconds, clocking 53.86 seconds. The other good display in Group I came from Poornchandra who won the 400m individual medley and the 400m freestyle. In boys’ Group II, Nithin Prabhakar did well to win the 100m and 200m backstroke, while in Group III, L. Shreyas won the 50m butterfly and the 100m freestyle golds. Among girls, Pooja Alva bagged golds in the 400m individual and the 100m butterfly in Group I while in Group II, the best performer was Arhatha Magavi, who took golds in the 200m freestyle and the 100m butterfly. Bhoomi Motwani won the 100m backstroke and the 50m breast stroke in Group III.
