Amey, Ashish score centuries

VISAKHAPATNAM: Centuries by Amey Shikhande (104, 11x4, 3x6) for Maharashtra against Bengal and Ashish Yadav (103, 8x4, 4x4) for Uttar Pradesh against Karnataka were the highlights of first day’s play in the four-day quarterfinals of the all-India under-22 cricket tournament for the Col. C.K. Nayudu Trophy here on Thursday.

Uttar Pradesh 332 for nine in 90 overs (Ashish Yadav 103, Ekalavya Dwivedi 50, Prasanth Gupta 46, Shivkant Shukla 39, S.L. Aksilay three for 48) vs. Karnataka.

Hyderabad 263 in 68.3 overs (Vijay Goud 51, T. Rishi Raj 50, Mohammed Shakir 50, Avtar Singh 48, Parvesh Shikara three for 78) vs. Delhi 52 for three in 21 overs.

Maharashtra 275 for six in 90 overs (Amey Shikhande 104, Sangram Atitker 39 batting, Vaibhav 33) vs. Bengal.
