THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Fisheries and Civil Supplies officials would organise joint inspections to detect bogus kerosene permits in the fisheries sector, Fisheries Minister S. Sarma said here on Wednesday. Addressing a conference of officials of the two departments and members of the Assembly from coastal areas on supply of kerosene to fishing boats, the Minister said the objective would be to ensure that the fishermen got the allocations meant for them. Mr. Sarma said the efficiency of boat engines would be taken as a criterion while sanctioning new kerosene permits. Civil Supplies Minister C. Divakaran also addressed the meet. — Staff Reporter
