Blessington passes away
HYDERABAD: Blessington Thomas, the official scorer of the Hyderabad Cricket Association for more than 35 years, passed away on Tuesday night after a massive cardiac arrest. He was 57.
Tom, as he was popularly known in the cricketing circles and in the media, was doing the scoring for the Hyderabad-Orissa Ranji Trophy match which concluded on Tuesday.
On the third day, he felt indisposed, but nevertheless continued with his duty.
However, he could not attend the fourth day’s play. Late on Tuesday, his health worsened and when he was rushed to the hospital, he was declared brought dead.
Tom did the scoring for more than 250 Ranji matches besides a few Test matches and all the one-day internationals played in Hyderabad besides Duleep Trophy matches.
