Delete portions that hurt Hindus: BJP

Staff Reporter

Kolkata: The West Bengal unit of the BJP has demanded that Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen should delete those sections from her books that “hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community.”

General secretary of the unit Rahul Sinha said: “Ms. Nasreen has deleted certain passages from her book Dwikhandita that hurt the sentiments of the Muslim community. But her earlier works like Lajja had direct indictments of BJP leader L.K.Advani, as well as the party itself. In Nirbachito Column, she had made comments against Lord Ram, the Vedas, Upanishads and Manu Samhita. These references should also be excised.”
