Ammathi lifts cup

Madikeri: Ammathi Sports Club lifted the 16th Nestle Kodagu Cup hockey championship defeating Cooperative Sports Club (Murnad) 2-1 in the final at the Cauvery College grounds in Gonicoppa on Sunday.

Nitin Ganapathi scored a brace for the winner in the fourth and 25th minutes, while Belliappa reduced the margin in the 56th minute.

Saturday’s results: Semifinals: Ammathi SC 5 bt Shivaji (Napoklu) 3; Cooperative SC (Murnad) 3 bt Pragathi (Hoddur) 0.
