Cosmos in last four

CHENNAI: Cosmos Club, Tiruvallur will play Sporting Club de Goa and Salgaocar SC takes on Mahindra United in the semifinals on Saturday in the Nike-Under 15 Manchester United Premier cup qualification matches (south and west zones) at the Nehru Stadium here. The day will also witness the tournament’s final.

The last two matches in the league saw Sporting beat Viva Kerala 2-0 in Group III while Mahindra United and Sports Hostel Orissaa played out a goalless draw in Group II. Ailesh Sawant and Mario Lobo were the scorers for Sporting.

Sporting and Providence Club were tied on points in Group III and the winner was decided on draw of lots.

Group II: Steds Academy, Chennai 0 drew with State Sports Hostel, Orissa 0; Sports School, Bangalore 3 (M. Hari Ram, Santhosh Kumar, ArunKumar) bt Steds Academy Chennai 0. Group III: Providence Gujarat FC 1 (Maubin Raul) bt Viva FC Kerala 0; Providence Gujarat 2 (Abhishek Triparthi, Srinivas Panigrahi) bt Bangalore Veterans FRC 0.

Group IV: Dindigul District Youth Academy 1 (N. Nekkolas Raj) drew with Sambalpur Academy Orissa 1 (Ajay Oram); Salgaocar SC 3 (Jerry Braganza, Godfrey Silva, Allwyn Fernandes) bt Pune FBC 0.

Thursday’s result: Salgaocar SC 2 (Pandhari Chopdekar 2) bt Sambalpur Academy, Orissa 0.
