BANGALORE: Directorate of Youth Services and Sports (Mysore) beat Sports Authority of India (Madikere) to bag the title in the State senior women’s hockey tournament here on Friday. Prema (12th & 30th, penalty corners), Kavya Shree (24th, penalty stroke) and Ashitha (22nd) scored for DYSS (Mysore) and Kulsom Bi (25th, penalty corner), while Lekha (35th) scored for SAI (Madikere). Special prizes: Goalkeeper: Sanchita (Rangers); Full-back: Sindhu (SAI); Half-back: Harinakshi (Sports School, Kudige); Forward: Ashitha (DYSS); Player of the tournament: P.N. Shruthi (SAI); Most Promising Player: Lakshmi Devi (Naveen HC); Fairplay Award (Team): Zenith Hockey Club. Body-building teamAn 11-member Karnataka squad will participate in the 23rd South India body-building championship at Coimbatore on December 1 and 2. The team: Mohan Hebbali, G. Mohan (55kg), Kishore G. Naik, Santosh (60kg), Md. Nafeez, R. Annappa (65kg), K. Naveen Bhat, Shoukat Ali (70kg), Mubarak Ali and Srikanth Rao (80kg) and Pranay R. Shetty (90kg).
