Polls in two gram panchayats next month

MANGALORE: The State Election Commission has announced the elections to gram panchayats of Someshwar in Mangalore taluk and Pudu in Bantwal taluk.

A press release from M. Maheshwar Rao, Deputy Commissioner and District Electoral Officer, here on Wednesday, said the elections would be notified on December 5. Last date for filing nominations is December 12; nomination scrutiny on December 13; last date for withdrawal of nominations is December 15. Elections will be held, if necessary, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on December 23. Counting will be on December 24 at 8 a.m.
