Constable injured in freak accident

HYDERABAD: A police constable, Bal Reddy of Security Wing, was injured when the Punjagutta Traffic police inspector’s jeep hit him on Lakeview guest house premises on Wednesday.
A case was registered against the home guard who was driving the jeep. The injured constable was discharged after being treated as out-patient at a private hospital.
Mr. Reddy was on security duty for Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
The Chief Minister arrived at the Lakeview guesthouse to meet AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh, who was in city to attend a private programme at 1.30 p.m. Mr. Reddy was standing near the portico of the guest house when the home guard started the jeep to keep it in front of the Chief Minister’s convoy of vehicles.
The home guard failed to notice the constable and hit him.
