Mysore: The cricket lovers of Mysore are in for a treat, as the city gets ready to host two Ranji Trophy Super League matches in the coming week. The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), in order to promote and popularise the game in moffusil centres, has allotted two games to Mysore. The first match, to be held at the Mysore University Platinum Jubilee Gangothri Glades grounds from Dec. 1 to 4, will see Karnataka take on Rajasthan. The second match will be played between the host and Saurashtra at the Infosys grounds from Dec. 9 to 12. The first tie will be the fifth Ranji Trophy match to be held in Mysore and the second Ranji Trophy match to be played at the Glades grounds. In 2006, Karnataka had beaten Harayana. Good preparationThe Gangothri Glades grounds is lush green and the wicket for the match is being prepared by Mr. Nagaraj of the Mysore University. Mr. P.R. Vishwanathan, the BCCI, Ground and Pitches Committee (South) from Chennai is overseeing the preparation at the ground. The KSCA Mysore zonal committee is also adding more infrastructural facilities in the ground. Two permanent Side screens are being erected and a new scoreboard is also being installed. The cricket loving public will be allowed to witness the match free of cost. Karnataka, which goes into the December 1 match with eight points from three games, is currently placed fifth in Group A. Rajasthan is in the bottom of the group with zero points from three matches. — Our Correspondent Dharwad Zone cricketThe KSCA Dharwad Zone will conduct the KSCA U-13 inter-district tournament from Nov. 29 to Dec. 5 at Hubli and Dharwad. Hubli, Dharwad, Gadag, Karwar and Belgaum will play against each other in a league format. Players from these teams would be selected to represent the Dharwad Zone u-13 team.
