Naidu creating fear among officials, says Tulasi Reddy
HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu’s warning that he will take action against certain government officials once he comes back to power has drawn flak from the Congress.
APCC spokesperson N. Tulasi Reddy told reporters here on Wednesday that said the TDP chief was creating fear in the minds of the officials discharging their duties. He said it was not new for Mr. Naidu to hold out threats.
Known tactic
“When he was the Chief Minister, he had resorted to such tactics and after losing power also he is continuing to do so,” he said. Even his party colleagues like T. Devender Goud, Nagam Janardhan Reddy and Karnam Balarama Krishnamurthy had, on earlier occasions, threatened the then Warangal Collector Enosh Ekka and Ongole Collector B. Udayalakshmi.
He said the Payakaraopet MLA Chengal Venkat Rao had slapped a police constable in full view of the media and elected representatives in Visakhapatnam some time ago. He advised Mr. Naidu to respect officials.
Lands issue
Dr. Tulasi Reddy said it was ridiculous on the part of Mr. Naidu to accuse the government of alienating lands, when he himself had started the process by giving away prime lands at throw away prices to multi-national companies.
