Chief Minister clears relief fund files despite doctors’ advice
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who underwent a cataract operation, has been advised by doctors not to strain his eyes for a week by reading, especially if the matter is written or typed in small-sized letters.
Dr. Reddy, however, chose to clear all the files relating to applications received from sick persons seeking financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to undergo surgeries for serious ailments. Dr. Reddy attended his office in the Secretariat on Wednesday after a gap of three days following the operation. He sought two more days time when officials sought his signature on files concerning other matters. He said “I will not sign them unless I read the matter. The operation is successful. But, doctors asked me not to strain the eyes.”
