‘People should reject Sakrama scheme’

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Save Bangalore Committee has called upon people to reject the “Sakrama” scheme and not to pay the regularisation fee.

It said that the scheme was a design to legalise decades of illegal activities of corrupt officials of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike.

In a press release, joint convener of the Save Bangalore Committee V.N. Rajashekar said that “sakrama” could not deter the politically backed land mafia, big builders and developers from flouting rules.

No clout

“The victims of the scheme will be the law-abiding middle class and lower middle class people who neither have political clout nor money,” the statement added.
