Photo copier shop gutted

Coimbatore: A photo copier shop dealing with electrical and mobile phone accessories on DB Road in R.S. Puram in the city was gutted in the small hours of Tuesday.

The fire was noticed by the police personnel on night rounds. The Fire and Rescue Services Personnel battled for nearly two to three hours to put out the fire. The cause of fire and extent of damage are under investigation.

In another fire accident in a house belonging to Arumugam on Nanjundapuram Road in Ramanathapuram area in the city, house hold items, books and a refrigerator was gutted on Monday night.

It was learnt that the inmates of the house had lit a candle because of the power failure and the accidental fall of the candle led to the accident. Investigations are on.
