Centre shifts Taslima to undisclosed location
Bindu Shajan Perappadan
NEW DELHI: Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen was shifted out of the Rajasthan House here to an undisclosed location by Central intelligence sleuths late on Monday night.
She had been a guest of the State government since last Saturday.
Ms. Nasreen told The Hindu here on Tuesday: “I am okay but I don’t know where I am. I am tired and sleepy.”
Home Ministry sources said her security was paramount and she was shifted to an undisclosed location. She is lodged somewhere in the capital or nearby area.
Rohit Kumar Singh, Commissioner of Public Relations, Rajasthan Government, said:
“Officials from the Home Ministry came to the Rajasthan House and told us that they would be moving the writer out. We were not told where she was being taken. She said she did not have any problem with being shifted. She was taken away around 12.10 a.m.”
