Bangalore: After the overwhelming response that the Tata Building India Essay Competition received from schools in six chosen cities last year, the Tata Group has extended the second edition of their essay competition to 12 cities this year. So if you are studying in classes six to 12, aspire to be a future leader and want to express your vision for India, this competition might just be the platform for you. InauguratedThe competition was inaugurated in Bangalore recently by Sister Esperance, principal of St. Francis Xavier’s School, and is expected to see the participation of 40 schools and 40,000 students in the city. The essay topics will be related to the education system and the future of India. The essays will first be short-listed by the schools, and the winning essays will be collected from each city and evaluated by an independent panel of judges for city-level recognition. PrizesThe best essays from each city will finally be judged by an eminent panel for the best essay at the national level. Winners will walk home with digital cameras, handy cams, desktop computers and laptops along with a trophy and certificate. Other placesThe essay competition will be held in the following cities too: Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Jamshedpur, Darjeeling, Chandigarh, Indore, Hyderabad, Pune and Ahmedabad.
