CHENNAI: Host Southern Railway moved into the final in the women’s section with a 79-50 win over Western Railway in the All-India Railways basketball championship here on Sunday. In the title round, Southern will clash with SECR which beat Central 86-62. In the men’s category, ICF put out Southern Railway 87-60 to make it to the final against Western which recorded a 96-66 win over NFR. The results (semifinals): Men: Western 96 (Jasjot Singh 29, Yadwinder Singh 19, S.P. Singh 19, Ethiraj 16) bt NFR 66 (Birender Singh 26); ICF 87 (Balaji 21, Sikander Raj 19, Bhoopalan 13) bt Southern Railway 60 (Leo Charles 13, Bernard Philip 10). Women: Southern 79 (Anitha 14, Adirai 12, Geetha Anna Jose 11) bt Western 50 (Linsy Joseph 20); SECR 86 (Anju Lekar 22, Aakansha Singh 12) bt Central 62 (Manisha C. Dange 21).
