Guntur lifts trophy

VIJAYAWADA: Prakasam registered an innings and five-run victory over West Godavari while the match between Guntur and Krishna ended in a draw in the ACA Central Zone u-13 inter-district cricket tournament for R.M.V. Narasimha Rao memorial trophy at Loyola Public School grounds at Guntur on Sunday. Guntur lifted the trophy by topping the table with nine points and Krishna finished second with eight.

The scores: Krishna 157 and 168 for 5 in 46 overs (Goutham 104 n.o, A. Srinivas three for 44) drew with Guntur 272 for 8 decl. in 90 overs (Srikrishna 114, Bhima Rao four for 70).

West Godavari 84 and 76 in 33 overs (Gangadhar 41, Kalyan five for one) lost to Prakasam 165.

Nalanda, Chaitanya post wins

Nalanda Public School and Gudivada’s Chaitanya scored convincing victories over Kumar PS and SDMYRR High School respectively in the KDCA inter-school league tournament for the Nori Sivaramakrishna memorial trophy here on Sunday.

The scores: Kumar PS 79 in 20.2 overs (Hardhit three for 23, Rohit three for 16), Omar Khan three for 10) lost to Nalanda 80 for 2 in 14.5 overs.

Chaitanya (Gudivada) 142 in 40.2 overs (Nani four for 41) bt SDMYRR HS 30 in 12 overs (Arjun three for 14, Govind three for 16).
