Krishna shines

KOCHI: Krishna Chandran’s sparkling all-round performance (97 not out and two for 32) helped State Bank of Travancore (Thiruvananthapuram) defeat host Cordiant-Tripunithura CC by 68 runs and enter the final of the 57th Cordiant-Pooja all-India cricket tournament at the Tripunithura Palace Oval on Saturday.

Former champion SBT, which topped the three-team Group ‘B,’ will meet Muthoot-Ernakulam CC in Sunday’s final.

The scores: SBT (Thiruvananthapuram) 272 for five in 45 overs (Krishna Chandran 97 not out, K. Chandrasekhara 80) bt Cordiant-Tripunithura CC 204 in 32.2 overs (M.M. Shindo 61). — Principal Correspondent
