BCCI may compensate Vengsarkar
New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) may consider offering compensation to Chief Selector, Dilip Vengsarkar, for agreeing to stop writing newspaper columns.
Vengsarkar, who has given a categorical assurance that he will not write columns anymore after the Board threatened to serve a show cause notice on him, is said to be losing a substantial amount of money for agreeing to the BCCI diktat.
“We may consider compensating him for whatever loss he may incur because of this directive,” a BCCI source said on Friday. The BCCI top brass had an informal discussion on the matter during the day and decided not to take any action after his climbdown. — PTI
