Ex gratia for victims’ kin

Harish Khare

Kampala(Uganda): Condemning the blasts in Uttar Pradesh and condoling the loss of lives, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh announced an ex gratia relief of Rs. 1 lakh for the next of the kin of the dead and Rs. 50,000 for the seriously injured from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.

The Prime Minister was told on Friday of the blasts back home just before he and other heads of government retired for a “retreat,” the new preferred informal format for the Commonwealth Heads of Government (CHOGM) summit here.
