BANGALORE: ITI Sports Club caused an upset by defeating State champion Karnataka State Police (KSP) in five thrilling sets in the Association Cup super league volleyball match for the Sri Chowdeshwari Trophy at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium courts here on Friday. ITI won 19-25, 25-21, 25-19, 20-25, 15-8. Having lost to MEG in straight sets on Thursday, the youthful side, barring Yatish and Nagaraj Hegde, were out to prove a point and chose this day. Suresh and Sampath too chipped in with some intelligent play. For KSP, only Shinoj managed to restore some sanity, while the rest, more out of complacency, conceded too many points.
