Karthik, Aleem hit centuries

Bangalore: M.S. Karthik’s 133 and Aleem Yates’ 103 set the base for Oriental CC’s 331-run victory over Yankees CC in a KSCA Metro shield league match here recently. Oriental CC posted 443 in 49.2 overs and bundled out Yankees CC for 112 in 20.2 overs.

CIL defeats DYSS

CIL defeated DYSS 2-1 in a State super-division league match at the Football Stadium here on Friday. Vasidharan (25th min.) and Pradeep (29th min.) scored for CIL and helped their team recover well after Patterson’s third minute goal helped DYSS take an early lead. Earlier in an ‘A’ division league match, Ramesh’s brace (62nd and 85th min.) helped BUFC defeat Thilak Memorial 2-0. Meanwhile in the `C’ division league, Queen Star defeated Rangers 3-1. Santosh, Allen and Chandru scored for the victors while Elvin scored Rangers’ lone goal.

Umpires Day celebration

The Association of Cricket Umpires Karnataka (ACUK) will host its annual Umpires Day celebration at the Chinnaswamy Stadium here on November 25. During the course of the function, Test umpires from Karnataka will be honoured.
