Insurance cover for banana farmers sought

ERODE: The district administration has written to the State Government regarding insurance cover for banana farmers, Collector T. Udhayanchandran has said.

He told presspersons on Tuesday that said strong winds had affected banana crops in Gobichettipalayam, Sathyamangalam and neighbouring areas and there was no way the farmers could claim insurance cover.

This was because the insurance cover did not cover crop damage because of winds, he said and added that the district administration had written to the Government.
