ERODE: Tamil Nadu is the only State that has come up with different types of welfare schemes for the benefit of the poor and needy, said the Highways and Ports Minister M.P. Saminathan on Monday. He was speaking at a function at Varapalayam village near Dharapuram, at which he distributed colour television sets. The Minister said that after the formation of the present DMK Government, several welfare measures had been implemented for the benefit of agriculturists, Government employees and others. Various reforms had been carried out in Tamil Nadu and people from all walks of life had benefited from the actions of the present Government. He distributed Rs. 49.21 lakh worth of colour television sets.
