Ladies Northern India Open golf
NEW DELHI: The 40th Ladies Northern India Open amateur golf championship opens at the Delhi Golf Club course here on Tuesday.
The championship, which is open to amateur women golfers with handicaps of -12 and below, is being sponsored by Mawana Sugars and Usha International.
The four-day championship has received 26 entries including the talented Sharmila Nicollet, who is still a junior with zero handicap. Nalini Singh, Mehar Atwal, seasoned Shruti Khanna, the No.1 on the IGULS list, will be the other contenders. Defending champion Meghna Bal has decided to skip the event as she is in U.S. on a golf scholarship.
