Three seeds crash out

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Second seed Vishnu S. Nair, sixth seed Madhav Narayankumar and seventh seed Solomon G. Thomas crashed out in the first round of the boys’ under-14 singles event in the AITA national talent series tennis tournament at the TTC courts here on Monday.

Fourth seed Aqueel Faheem trounced Vishnu 6-1, 6-2 and in other upsets Jayanth Jayaraman (TN) crushed Madhav 6-1, 6-1 and N. Ashwin (TN) got the better of Solomon 6-3, 6-1

CBSE athletics

The 12th CBSE National athletics championship, hosted by the Chinmaya Vidyalaya (Vaduthala), will be held at the Maharaja’s College Stadium’s synthetic athletic track in Kochi from January 4 to 8. More than 2,500 athletes will figure in the four-day meet.
