Bhui cracks century

VISAKHAPATNAM: Ricky Bhui scored a century for Visakhapatnam against Srikakulam, while East Godavari gained the lead over Vizianagaram at close on the first day of the final round of round-robin matches in the ACA North Zone under-13 tournament, for the P.N. Rajagopal Trophy, at the ACA-VDCA stadium here on Monday.

T.V. Sai Dinesh scored an unbeaten century and shared an unbroken stand of 145 for the second wicket with K. Rahul (50) in Visakhapatnam’s win over Vizianagaram in the previous round match on Sunday.

The scores:

Visakhapatnam 298 in 59.5 overs (Ricky Bhui 105, G. Syam Sundar 66, T.V. Sai Dinesh 39, Rakesh four for 37) vs. Srikakulam 80 for four in 32 overs (P. Dinesh 33 batting).

Vizianagaram 133 in 50.1 overs (B. Sridhar 42, N.K. Chaitanya Reddy 28) vs. East Godavari 139 for four in 55 overs (D. Akhil 63, S.G. Sagar 32).

Sunday’s matches: Srikakulam 158 and 167 for seven in 65 overs (R. Suraj Preetam 40, P. Dinesh 39, U. Uma Shankar 29, Tarun Kumar three for 44) drew with East Godavari 162 in 62.1 overs (S.G. Sagar 53, P. Dinesh three for 39, Tarun Kumar three for 44).
