MASC beats Merchants
MANGALORE: Mukkacherry Arts and Sports Club (Ullal) beat Merchants FC (Mangalore) 1-0 in the Ahmed Master B division football league tournament at the Nehru Maidan here on Monday.
Imran scored the winner in the second minute after the breather. Mangalore Heros has already emerged the B division champion, garnering 14 points from six matches and qualified for A division.
Merchants, who is on seven points from five matches and has a game against NIT-K, Srinivasnagar on hand, can progress to the A division if it wins its final league match by a three-goal margin. Otherwise, the honour will go to MASC, which has 10 points from six matches.
