Doha Bank ties up with Select Securities

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: The Doha Bank has entered into a strategic tie-up with Investnet, the Kochi-based brokerage network. The bank has taken equity stake in Select Securities Ltd., the holding company for Select Group of Companies that owns the brokerage network.

The tie-up was announced at a meeting here by Prince George, CEO of the Select group, and R. Seetharaman, CEO of the Doha Bank. The name of the holding company, Select Securities Ltd., will be changed to Doha Brokerage & Financial Services. Mr. Seetharaman will be its Chairman and Mr. Prince George its Managing Director.

The group will look for an ambitious expansion within and outside India. It will venture into new segments such as non-banking financial company activities, asset management and other related activities, they said.

Incorporated in 1978, the Doha Bank has a wide network of branches across West Asia and outside. It operates in six countries.

Investnet, a member of the Cochin Stock Exchange, was promoted in 1992.

The subsidiaries and associate companies of the group have memberships in National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange for cash and derivative segments.

It has memberships in various commodity exchanges in the country.
