Greg Chappell’s new role

Jaipur: Former Indian cricket coach Greg Chappell will be involved in the second season of ‘Cricket Star’.

‘Cricket Star T20’, will be a 16-city talent hunt, conducted by Emerging Media and the Future Cricket Academy, Rajasthan (Chappell is the advisor for the Academy).

Speaking to the media at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium that will host the fifth ODI, he said that he was looking forward to working with the youngsters.

“Coaching India gave me an insight into coaching at the international level but I think you can make a bigger impact on younger minds. It’s exciting to see the excitement on the face of a youngster and that gives me a lot of pleasure,” he said, when comparing the two jobs.

“I will be working both on the physical and mental aspects. I will be looking to help them go beyond fear.”

Despite requests to keep the questions confined to his academy and the talent hunt, Chappell was asked on Tendulkar’s run in the nineties. “I’m sure he will keep scoring runs and centuries but don’t think I have any advice for him that he has not been already receiving,” he said. — Sports Reporter
