Nihal, Shristi in lead

MANGALORE: Fourth seed Nihal Manjunath (5) of Mangalore shocked top seed Adith Jagadish (4), also of Mangalore, to emerge sole leader at the end of five rounds in the State under-13 chess tournament for boys here on Saturday.

Antonio Viani D’ Cunha (4.5) and Gahan M.G. (4.5), who split points in their fifth round, are trailing Nihal.

In the girls’ section, top seed Shristi J. Shetty (4) of Shimoga emerged the sole leader with a one point advantage at the end of four rounds.

Lenita Mathias (3) is trailing Shristi in the leader board.
