Maoists’ call creates ripples

KATHMANDU: The Communist Party of Nepal (Maoists) has created ripples in the political arena demanding review of all past agreements and reconstitution of the coalition government.

The party has even said the leadership of the coalition government should be changed if necessary. In his political paper presented before a gathering of the civil society leaders, Maoist Chairman Prachanda said, “We should be even ready to change the leadership of the government to save the peace process and seven-party unity.” He called for an all-party conference to deal with the political crisis.

He also demanded reallocation of power and responsibilities. He also said there was an urgent need to reform the security system.
