VISAKHAPATNAM: Captain G. Syam Sundar and Ricky Bhui slammed centuries to put Visakhapatnam in a strong position over East Godavari on the first day of the ACA North Zone inter-district under-13 cricket tournament at the ACA-VDCA Stadium ‘B’ ground here on Thursday.
Syam (149, 19x4, 1x6) and Ricky (109, 15x4) added 264 runs for the third wicket to help Visakhapatnam score 309 for four in reply to East Godavari’s 175, at close on the first day of the two-day league match. K. Rahul impressed with a four-wicket haul.
Meanwhile, Srikakulam was comfortably placed against Vizianagaram in the other match at the ‘A’ ground.
Srikakulam was 202 for six (P. Dinesh 98 batting) after dismissing Vizianagaram for 58 in its first innings. Dinesh and A. Prasanth claimed three wickets each for Srikakulam.

East Godavari 175 in 63.4 overs (M. Srinivasa Rao 52, G.S.S. Sajana 26, K. Rahul four for 14) vs. Visakhapatnam 309 for four in 44 overs (G. Syam Sundar 149, Ricky Bhui 109).
Vizianagaram 58 in 32.4 overs (P. Dinesh three for 10, A. Prasanth three for 13) vs. Srikakulam 202 for six in 65 overs (P. Dinesh 98 batting, I. Prem Chand 55, N. Srinu three for 18).
