Gwalior: Sourav Ganguly on Thursday entered the record books by becoming only the third cricketer in the world to have claimed 100 wickets and score 10,000 runs in One-Day Internationals.
Ganguly achieved this feat when he got the prize wicket of Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi in the fourth one-dayer here.
The former India captain has so far played in 311 One-Day Internationals and has amassed 11,363 runs and captured 100 wickets.
This has been a happy hunting ground for the Bengal left-handed batsman as he made 153 against New Zealand and was adjudged the Man of the Match in his last outing.
Sachin Tendulkar has claimed 154 wickets and scored 15,835 runs in 405 ODIs.
Sanath Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka has 12,207 runs and 307 wickets from 403 One-Day Internationals.
Meanwhile, paceman Zaheer Khan also became the fifth Indian bowler to claim 200 wickets in ODIs.
The others are Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, Ajit Agarkar and Kapil Dev. — PTI
