State told to pay for child’s death in Niloufer

Hyderabad: A Division Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court comprising acting Chief Justice Bilal Nazki and Justice Ramesh Ranganathan on Wednesday ordered payment of Rs. 1 lakh to the family of the child who was burnt to death in the Niloufer hospital due to malfunctioning of the0020incubator.

The government, which was initially ready to pay Rs. 50, 000, came forward to pay the amount indicated by the court.

The Bench further ordered that the criminal case in this regard be investigated by officer of the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police to fix the responsibility for the death in the hospital.
