Bharath scalps five

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A fine spell by Bharath Shankar (five for 34) saw Tamil Nadu bundle out Andhra for 154 in its first innings at the LNCPE Stadium here on the opening day of the South Zone Polly Umrigar Trophy under-15 cricket tournament on Wednesday.

At the Medical College ground, an unbeaten 105 by Abhishek Mohan enabled host Kerala to reach 170 for six against Karnataka. Aman Raj was the most successful bowler for Karnataka with three for 22.

The scores: Hyderabad 374 for five decl. in 83 overs (Yathin Reddy 141, Vinay Rao 67 n.o., Chaithanya Krishna 53) vs. Goa 20 for two in seven overs.

Kerala 170 for six in 77 overs (Abhishek Mohan 105 n.o., Sally Samson 31, Aman Raj three for 22).

Andhra 154 in 108.5 overs (Naveen Reddy 35, Bharath Shankar five for 34) vs. Tamil Nadu zero for no loss in one over. — Principal Correspondent
