GHMC defeats ASC

HYDERABAD: GHMC (Amberpet) defeated ASC 3-2 in the junior State hockey championship at the Gymkhana here on Wednesday.

Jarnail Singh and Dinesh Reddy were the scorers for GHMC, while for ASC Irfan and Nandulal scored.

In another match, Young Hyderabad beat GHMC (Ameerpet) 3-2. Ashraf (2) and Musharaf scored for the wining team, while Sharanpal Singh and Harnik Singh reduced the margin.

Match drawn

State Bank of Hyderabad and Hyderabad Globe FC were locked in a 1-1 draw in the SAAP premier league football tournament here on Wednesday.

Irfan scored for HGFC in the 13th minute and Akber equalised for the bankmen in the 48th minute.

Prasad, Seshu in lead

Praveen Prasad and P.V.V. Seshu, with 5.5 points each, were jointly in the lead at the end of six rounds in the 15th annual Tatipalli Gopalakrishna prize money chess tournament here on Wednesday.

SBI posts win

State Bank of India beat NBA 61-55 in the GHMC open basketball tournament on Wednesday.

Cricket tournament

The day-night Eddie Aibara cricket Cup for under-13 and 15 age groups will be held at the Sports Coaching Foundation here from November 25.

Port HS wins

Port High School, Godavari, won the overall title in the Children’s Day sports meet organised by the Visakhapatnam Port Trust.

It topped the athletics and games team championship to claim the overall honours, followed by Port High School, Krishna, as runner-up.
