Six districts have no BC MLAs: study

HYDERABAD: As many as six districts had no representation for Backward Classes in the current Assembly. In five more, including Kadapa and Chittoor, there was only one BC legislator.

No single SC and ST represents a general seat which means that if there was no reservation, these two sections would have gone unrepresented.

These were some of the findings of a study conducted by the newly formed Forum for Empowerment of Weaker Sections comprising former IAS officers and academicians released here on Tuesday. They included K. Madhava Rao, former CS and forum chairman, Prof. S. Simhadri and Prof. K. Murali Manohar, convenors and Prof. Kancha Ilaiah, member.
