CHENNAI: World number 17 and two-time Chennai Open champion Carlos Moya has confirmed his participation for the Chennai Open 2008. The tournament will be held from December 31 to January 6, 2008, at the SDAT Stadium in Nungambakkam.

Confirming his participation, Moya said, “I always look forward to coming to India and especially Chennai. It is just fantastic here and I love the adulation and support of the crowd of Chennai. I have some very fond memories of playing at the Chennai Open and would love to improve my performance in 2008 and start the year on a bright note. This is my sixth visit here and having won the title twice before, I am confident that I will be able to raise my game to the highest level.”

This will be Moya’s sixth appearance in seven years. The former World No. 1 has won 20 ATP singles titles. He was a semifinalist here last year.
