Amar Singh meets Karat
New Delhi: Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh on Tuesday met CPI (M) general secretary Prakash Karat.
“There are issues of common concern and the nuclear deal is one of them,” Mr. Singh, who is the spokesman of the United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA), told reporters after the 30-minute meeting.
Floor strategy
He said he met Mr. Karat to discuss the common floor strategy to be adopted during the Parliament session beginning on Thursday but did not elaborate.
Asked about the reported softening of stand by the Left parties on the nuclear deal, he sought to disagree.
“I am strongly against the general feeling that the Left has diluted its stand. Talking does not mean signing of the pact,” he said. — PTI
