KOZHIKODE: P.T. Usha has said that she would rather concentrate on helping her trainees at the Usha School of Athletics win Olympic medals than worry about the controversies. “Pharis Aboobacker was just one of the many people who have helped the school; he had promised us Rs. 1 crore to set up a sports medicine centre, but we have received only Rs. 10.5 lakh so far. “It is very difficult to get sponsors to train athletes; you will get them only after you start winning medals. The State Government has also helped us greatly,” Usha said at a meet-the-press programme here on Tuesday. Cycle polo trials Trials to select the State junior cycle polo teams to take part in the National junior championship at Jabalpur will be held at the Poojapura Maidan, Thiruvananthapuram, on November 15. Boys and girls born on or after January 1, 1990 are eligible to take part in the trials, commencing at 3 p.m.
