RBI bought $34.8 b in April-Sept.

NEW DELHI: To contain the rising value of the rupee, the Reserve Bank of India has purchased $34.8 billion during the first half of the current fiscal against $4.8 billion during the corresponding period last year. In September alone, the RBI purchased $11.9 billion, the highest amount purchased by it in a month, according to the monthly bulletin of the central bank released on Wednesday.
